    Gokaicho is a major Buddhist event that takes place every seven years at Zenkoji Temple in Nagano, Japan. During the festival, the temple's main image, a hidden Buddha statue called the "Ikko Sanzon Amida Nyorai" is revealed to the public for just a few weeks. Visitors from all over Japan come to see the statue and take part in various ceremonies and rituals held during the festival. The Gokaicho is considered one of the most important religious events in Japan and has been held for over 1,300 years. The next Gokaicho festival is scheduled for 2026.
